Plustek M12, portable scanner

What a mistake! This scanner is unbearable. I purchased this when I was using windows vista on my home computer; I found that it was unresponsive to scan and that once you completed a scan, the software would create a new folder for one image just where you couldn’t find it! But this isn’t the only problem; it often crashes when you use it more than once within an hour period.

When I upgraded my computer to windows 7 I tried to install my scanner with little success. The driver files needed to run the scanner with the appropriate software was only available online which began with windows trying to automatically install it which was difficult because the scanner isn’t programmed with it’s own model or manufacturer it knows itself as ‘600 dpi scanner’ which makes problems occur when windows automatically searches for drivers. The manufacturer’s website provides no support or software for my ‘dated’ model making the Plustek M12 obsolete, perhaps a money making trick?

Although it may not be very aesthetically pleasing it provides very good practical properties where it takes up minimal space and it can be tidied away when not being used because it is operated with a USB port. This increases compatibility with laptops and notebooks.

Practicality may be useful, but product support is equally important, this sly method of making products obsolete is dirty and greedy I would recommend that you avoid purchasing products made by Plustek if you intend to change your operating system.
